Weakening Thy Onions

A little trick I found online and wanted to share with you all. I find red onions yummy in flavor but way too strong to enjoy much of on a sandwich or salad. Upon slicing your red onions, soak in a bowl of ice water for 10-15 minutes, then pat dry before using in your favorite recipes. It'll just soak off some of the brashness and leave behind a lovely flavor.

Traveling with Necklaces

No more tangled necklaces when traveling. Slip one end through a drinking straw (I bought a box of 50 at the Dollar Store for, you guessed it, $1).

Easy Grease Cleanup

Finding this tip on Pinterest was very much a "duh" moment. Next time you are cooking meat that requires skimming fat out of the pan (or downright pouring it out), pour it into a bowl lined with aluminum foil. Once the grease solidifies, lift up the foil right into the garbage. No more scraping grease out of a bowl!

Boot Forms

Seriously, who doesn't hate their slouching boots when not in use? I searched around for "boot forms" but only came up with a few old-lady-looking options that cost an arm and a leg. But guess who's Dollar Tree had pool noodles this past weekend? Bingo. Cut it in thirds (or whatever height you want) and you have super cheap and functional boot forms.

The Mayo Trick

This is one of this household tricks everyone shoul know about! If you get a ring on wood furniture, fret not! Wipe the area dry, slather mayo onto the stain, allow to sit for at least 4 hours (preferably overnight), and it should wipe clean with no trace of the stain.
