I hate renovating or redecorating in phases, but due to budgets and time, that's how it usually ends up happening. So join me as we start updating our Master Bedroom. There are a variety of projects I want to complete for this makeover. Here is a brief To Do List to get us to the finish line:
- Create Upholstered Headboard (Budget $100.00)
- Purchase (used) Lamp Bases and upcycle them (Budget $20.00 for two)
- Purchase Lamp Shades for above Lamp Bases (Budget for 2 shades $50.00)
- Paint Furniture and add Hardware (Budget $60.00 for 4 pieces of furniture)
- DIY Curtains (Navy or Ivory Pattern) (Budget $25.00 per panel)
- Find the following accoutrements: Tray for my Dresser, Rug Runner for Foot of the Bed, Cute Box for Remote Controls, and Cute Box for my Nightstand to hold Book/Kindle/Lotion/Pen/Crossword. (Total Budget for all accent pieces $100.00)
- Find new Bedding to include: King Duvet Cover, King Blanket (for foot of the bed), 2 King Shams, 3 Euro Pillow Shams, and Sheets (Total Budget $125.00)
- DIY Throw Pillows:
1) Monogram (Square)
2) Coordinates of where we were Married (Rectangle)
3) Long Bolster Pillow in a Neutral Pattern (Budget $50.00 for all 3 pillows with forms)
- DIY: Tailored Bedskirt (Navy or Navy Print) to Coordinate with Above Bedding (Budget $12.00)

I've put together a little inspiration board for our visual readers (including myself):
Some things I love for the room:
- Patterned curtains
- Patterned Euro Pillows (so you see just a peek of the pattern past neutral solid pillows
- Hand painted throw pillows
- Antique door knobs for curtain tiebacks
- Silver hardware on white furniture
- Floor length leaning mirror
- Natural pattered area rug
- Neurtral tray for dresser top -- great for catching jewelry, pocket change, pictures, and more
- That fabulous burn orange bust (found at Potterybarn.com -- this will be my splurge item)
